Pt. 2 – HIGH-END SOUND: Sweet & Refined or Raw & Natural – by WAJ
Try Astral Projecting and Become Younger
I still go astral projecting as I enjoy but when I’m ready for sleep I don’t just go back to my normal physical form. Instead, I’ve chosen a period in my life when I feel that my age was ideal. I astral project into my own body – in that time period – and I sleep there. With my astral projected self in that time that my DNA from that time tends to infuse my physical body with renewed youthfulness and it is only possible with astral projection.

Pt. 2 – HIGH-END SOUND: Sweet & Refined or Raw & Natural – by WAJ
Author: W.A. James
Indeed, in the High-End community there seems to be differences in opinion as to what type of sound best represents reality (dry, clinical and analytical, or, warm, natural and smooth) and this is reflected in the choices of equipment including turn-tables, cartridges, and amps, etc. Similarly, even if less blatantly apparent, a minimum of two camps seem to exist regarding the sound of speakers – call them; the ‘new-camp’ and the ‘old-school’. At risk of being even more controversial, I’ll explain below:
The ‘new-camp’: (This group represents the vast majority of high-end speakers available today). The sound of these is epitomized, in my opinion, by the likes of B+W, Infinity and Spendor. I would characterize their sound as pleasant, detailed, refined, sweet, and even pretty. However, they just don’t sound real, to me, in their reproduction of music. That’s because they also sound, small, thin, processed, false, and dynamically constipated. Unfortunately, these criticisms, more or less, apply to all modern middle-echelon high-end speakers I’ve encountered, and where many examples from the top echelon are just larger versions of the same, I’m sure it goes for them too.
The ‘old-school’: (This minority group represents warm-toned/high-efficiency – as in full-bodied/dynamic – designs from a bygone era, and a few modern equivalents.). In my opinion, the sound of these is epitomized by examples from Tannoy, Bozak, and Kilpsch(horn). I would characterize the sound of these as raw, un-refined and natural. Raw and un-refined denote a state of being un-processed, so I guess it all amounts to one thing – ‘NATURAL’. They also sound big (when the music requires), dynamic (especially the Klipsch), and fully filled-out – not thin. I believe these, and their modern equivalents – such as Avantgarde, Magico Ultimate, and even Cain+Cain’s ‘Ben’ (with sub-woofer) to name a few, from what I’ve gleaned – take us closer to the goal of realistically lifelike reproduction than the more popular aspirants from the ‘new-camp’.
Regarding the Tannoy et al from ‘the old-school’, I believe the secret of their superiority lies in the three factors we identified earlier; ie dynamic-capability, lower mid-range body, and (to a lesser extent) low-level detail retrieval. I do believe most modern (‘new-camp’) small-coned speakers have better low-level-detail retrieval ability, but that their sub-par abilities in the two more important areas account for their ineptitude at replicating reality.
SWEET & REFINED
I recently responded to an ad for a state-of-the-art, all tube, high-end ‘dream system’, as it was described by the seller. This system boasted; $12k B+W 802D speakers, two exquisitely sculpted mahogany pedestals each bearing a mega mono-bloc KT88 tube 75w power-amp custom built by an extremely reputable (and expensive) local builder, a CD player (the name of which I can’t recall) with tubed output-stage, and an Audio Research SP8 pre-amp.
Though I’d already put together my current system, including an Audio Research LS3 pre-amp, I was very interested in the SP8 as this was the pre-amp I’d lusted after since my youth. So I wanted to compare the sound of both, with a view to purchasing the SP8 if it was better. In addition to the LS3, I had also taken my EAR 834 phono pre-amp, and Linn Sondek turn-table along.
With the Linn hooked-up to the SP8, I listened to my own records – and was thoroughly disappointed. The records on the Linn sounded nothing like they did at home on my own system. Sure, the sound was sweet, very sweet, maybe too sweet, but that sound was also thin, without real body, instruments and singers sounded like miniature replicas of themselves, and dynamics were considerably constricted compared to the same music at home – but the sound was sweet, very sweet. The treble on that system was sublime; pristine, smooth, delicate, sweeter than that of my own system, but perhaps a little too prominent (how that prominence could have been achieved with a Grado Sonata cartridge’s slightly restrained high end is a mystery to me) – but the sound was sweet, very sweet. All through the demo, my host kept nodding his head and commenting on the Linn’s sound-quality as compared to his CD player. I barely noticed, all I could think was – man, that sound was sweet, very sweet.
I never bothered to have the LS3 hooked up, comparisons would have been meaningless in this system. (I subsequently learned from another owner of both a SP8 and a LS3 that the latter is better in her, yes, her opinion – similar in most respects, but significantly more neutral).
However, I honestly believe that the system was basically a good one, let down by the speakers. That my host was obviously happy with it is perhaps testament to the wide acceptance of this type of sound. I, for one, refuse to be too intimately reacquainted with it. It reminds me too much of those bitter/sweet times spent with my Spendor. That Spendor BC1 sounded slightly better, bye-the-way, if my memory serves me correctly – just as ‘sweet’ but slightly more full in the mids. And so too did a pair of Heybrooks, years ago, in a system which included the very Linn I now own (That system later moved on to Apogees which I was also not inclined to purchase when they became available, btw). But though they all sounded “good”, perhaps “excellent” as some would say, that “excellence” does not include the ability to replicate the sound of real, live music to the degree that others can.
I still remember that B+W though – man, that sound was sweet, very sweet!
RAW & NATURAL (and OH SO DYNAMIC)
I remember, for years, even through-out ownership of my own ‘top-notch’ (Spendor) system, I would seize every opportunity to listen to another system using Klipschorn speakers. Sure they were flawed; the treble was nothing to write home about, but especially, those mid-range horns occasionally displayed a coloration that could be irritating, at times. But despite that, and most importantly, those Klipschs were by far the most realistic reproducers of music I had ever encountered. They made music sound real, and live. I kept asking myself; Why can’t my system sound like that?
Metaphysical Info Break
Studies of The Law of Attraction have leading scholars of the subject believing manifestation is rooted in Quantum Physics, a realm where everything is possible and the Newtonian laws of physics no longer apply. The brain itself has been proven to be a quantum computer, so the theory does hold water. And studies of positive thinking and the Law of Attraction has seen thousands of people to change their lives for the better. To put it simply, "positive in the mind, positive in the world - negative in the mind, negative in the world."
Try Manifesting Your Destiny With Confidence - Click HereI can still recall the sound of a marching band reproduced on that system, the sound of the drums literally jumped out at you, the bass drum was tight and thunderous with visceral impact, the blast of trumpets was startling in its sudden intensity, the ability of the system to portray sounds from near silence to a deafening crescendo in an instant was mind-boggling. At times it seemed difficult to believe the band wasn’t actually somewhere near-by.
[For those interested in what REALISTIC reproduction really sounds like, be advised that Klipschorns provide the awesome sound in many cinemas around the world. Anywhere in the world they're available, check them out in a movie with lots of music like, ‘Ray', ‘Dreamgirls, or ‘This Is It'. This is very near the state-of-the-art in sound reproduction – trust me. Even if you still prefer another type of sound, at least you'll be aware of what top-quality audio-reproduction is like. Be aware, though, that THX movies are played with reduced treble.]
Perhaps I should stress, in case the point is missed, that the Spendor BC1 is still acclaimed today as one of the very best speakers ever made, and I agree (so is the Klipsch btw). The BC1 is still better in some ways than many that would want to claim to be state-of-the-art today. In fact, it’s also better than the Klipsch in several ways. And apart from deeper bass, and perhaps more lower mid-range body, the only real advantage in the Klipsch’s favor is its massive DYNAMIC CAPABILITY (due to its high efficiency). But that one advantage makes it so much more REALISTIC and LIFELIKE that comparisons in this regard would be ridiculous to the point of being embarrassing. I can’t make the point much clearer than that.
If the aim of high-end is REALISTIC reproduction, then why has the industry been pushing inefficient (90db/1w or less) designs which can’t achieve it? Could it be so as to also push expensive high-powered amplifiers? Are audiophiles being shafted, and have we been for a very long time?
Arguments that efficient designs are large and expensive are not entirely valid. The Cain + Cain mentioned above is about the size of the B+W also mentioned. And it is less than half the cost at a mere $5500. Legacy, Coincident, and Audio-Note, among others, also make high-efficiency models. Whether their tonality is as realistic as that of a Tannoy, for instance, I’m not sure. But at least they’re a step in the right direction.
In the early days of hi-fi (I’m told) all speakers had to be efficient because of the low power of tube-amps available at the time. (The old-timers also insisted on realistic lower mid-range performance, which they called ‘good tone’, btw). When smaller inefficient acoustic-suspension speakers became available around the time cheaper solid-state amps arrived to drive them, the industry took a wrong turn in totally ignoring the better speaker and amp principles that preceded them. The pioneers laid the ground-work and left a rich legacy. Latter generations squandered it seeking pies in the sky.
However, today, we seem to be coming full-circle: Evidenced by several ‘Best Sound At Show’ awards, and their glowing reviews recognizing their status as representatives of the ‘new’ state-of-the-art, the absolute very best and most realistic sound is now produced by modern speakers – such as Avantgarde & Magico Ultimate – built on those ancient principles of high-efficiency and ‘good-tone’. (So too, as far as tone is concerned, are the low-powered S.E.T. tube-amps used to drive them). They are also excellent at low-level detail resolution, but so too are most high-end speakers.
Their greatest advantage over all popular speakers is simply due to their excellent DYNAMIC CAPABILITY (due to their high-efficiency), and, perhaps to a lesser degree in these cases, LOWER MID-RANGE BODY. These are the factors that account for their vast superiority at reproducing the REALISM of a LIVE performance. It is as simple as that!
My former Spendor BC1 ‘state-of-the-art’ system, along with the B&W 802D, etc., epitomize the sweet, detailed, thin midranged, undynamic, and unrealistic sound of most popular high-end speakers today. The full-toned, dynamic sound of the afore-mentioned Klipschorn, along with the similar characteristics of the more recent Magico Ultimate and Avantgarde examples, serve to substantiate the arguments posited (in part 1, ‘From HiFi to High-End…’) regarding THE most important factors for REALISTIC reproduction of the sounds of music -dynamics & correct-tonality (including lower-midrange body).
The evidence is there for all to hear. Listen with care!

The Bridge of Praise and psalm 50
Author: Joseph Jagde
Psalm 50 reads as follows in the NIV version of the Bible, key citations will also include the New American Bible:
A psalm of Asaph.
1 The Mighty One, God, the LORD,
speaks and summons the earth
from the rising of the sun to where it sets.
2 From Zion, perfect in beauty,
God shines forth.
3 Our God comes
and will not be silent;
a fire devours before him,
and around him a tempest rages.
4 He summons the heavens above,
and the earth, that he may judge his people:
5 ”Gather to me this consecrated people,
who made a covenant with me by sacrifice.”
6 And the heavens proclaim his righteousness,
for he is a God of justice.
7 ”Listen, my people, and I will speak;
I will testify against you, Israel:
I am God, your God.
8 I bring no charges against you concerning your sacrifices
or concerning your burnt offerings, which are ever before me.
9 I have no need of a bull from your stall
or of goats from your pens,
10 for every animal of the forest is mine,
and the cattle on a thousand hills.
11 I know every bird in the mountains,
and the insects in the fields are mine.
12 If I were hungry I would not tell you,
for the world is mine, and all that is in it.
13 Do I eat the flesh of bulls
or drink the blood of goats?
14 ”Sacrifice thank offerings to God,
fulfill your vows to the Most High,
15 and call on me in the day of trouble;
I will deliver you, and you will honor me.”
16 But to the wicked person, God says:
”What right have you to recite my laws
or take my covenant on your lips?
17 You hate my instruction
and cast my words behind you.
18 When you see a thief, you join with him;
you throw in your lot with adulterers.
19 You use your mouth for evil
and harness your tongue to deceit.
20 You sit and testify against your brother
and slander your own mother’s son.
21 When you did these things and I kept silent,
you thought I was exactlylike you.
But I now arraign you
and set my accusations before you.
22 ”Consider this, you who forget God,
or I will tear you to pieces, with no one to rescue you:
23 Those who sacrifice thank offerings honor me,
and to the blameless[I will show my salvation.”
Verses 16 and 17 read as follows from the New
American Bible as follows:
14 Offer praise as your sacrifice to God;
fulfill your vows to the Most High.
15 Then call on me on the day of distress;
I will rescue you, and you shall honor me.”
This is an important psalm as it doubles up on and makes clear that if there is a bridge to traverse to get into direct communication with the Lord, it has nothing to do with ” peace offerings of the like” that can be traditionally seen as buffers or an initial go between
Just as the Lord knows the birds, he knows everyone and everything and owns all the cattle on the hill, he always knows every kind of trouble and distress, any type of storms that can form or waves that can crest and waters than can foam, , and he has an answer and recourse for every kind of trouble and distress that could ever be fathomed and while seeking the Lord realize any trouble of any type is ecnompassed in the verse mentioning the day of distress or troouble mentioned in verse 16..
The other important aspect of this psalm is its somewhat blunt tone, which doesn’t drape with holiness and sugar coating what is being said. There is a point blank aspect to this, which could possibility be seen as an invitation to debate with the Lord as one way of prayer, but more so it cuts to the chase and points to the direct route to adhere to right from the get go.
There is nothing inherently wrong with seeking the prayers of others, but sometimes the all comes right back to the direct route and the bridge available to cross for you personally, a bridge that is indeed passable on the direct approach to the Lord.
The argument is taking full tilt, in that the material sacrifices to the Lord don’t merit anything special and even if mucho more could be added in, it will not make a difference as the Lord owns all the cattle on the hill to start with and giving the material amounts to a give back of what he already owns.
Those seeking the Lord to whom this psalm is addressed to were right to seek a bridge, but they picked the wrong bridge and overall this psalm is seen as corrective to the approach of praise which is not always just saying the word praise but an interior disposition of prayer that is attituding and relational and direct This is echoed in Isaiah Chapter 64 in even more forceful language.
Verses 3 and 4 from the NIV version of the Bible for Isaiah 64 says”
3 For when you did awesome things that we did not expect,
you came down, and the mountains trembled before you.
4 Since ancient times no one has heard,
no ear has perceived,
no eye has seen any God besides you,
who acts on behalf of those who wait for him.
5 You come to the help of those who gladly do right
The Lord came down or crossed through on that gulf that existed and met the people unexpectedly, more than half way.
Bridges and what they might traverse are often wondrous, beautiful, mysterious and tenuous and what we might expect in crossing a bridge can be mysteriouis and unknown.. And that can describe some of the conditions that we are facing in our lives, there can be a lot of good but also a lot to traverse carefully as what we are dealing with has unexpected elements that cannot be fully predicted or known in advance..
There can often be vast treacherous waterways which bridges traverse and even what is found on the other side it draped in mystery as one maybe appropriates shading into the depths of nature and a bit away from modern accouterments with very little instrucion and guidance and now you are more or less on your own..
Often this bridge, that bridge is the only way across the canyon and that is about all she wrote.
As this gulf widens however, there is the mysterious offering of the direct route, where the Lord comes down and meets us individually where we are at and any personal uprisings towards that idea of giving the Lord anything materially that constitutes a sacrifice can be left aside as now you are dealing with the bridge of praise, which is the direct route.
That praise is the bridge is doubly reinforced here in this psalm. Praise being closed akin to thanksgiving.
If I am rich or not, the tendency is if I don’t have access to the material, the next thing to look at is being in the known.
Even that is refuted here as a means of getting to the Lord. It doesn’t matter who you know, that isn’t going to get you the bridge to the Lord.
The Lord knows every bird, every person, every nook and cranny and recoiling into the idea that there is some know it all who can help is an idea but that is not the bridge.
This psalm is sometimes used to bring in a little bit of prosperity preaching, that indeed the Lord has ownership of everything, all the cattle of the hill and maybe he will cast a favorable eye get you a nice piece of pie
While that can be possible, the point of view is more so that the approach to the Lord should be made with an understanding that his ownership is comprehensive and his knowing is comprehensive and that bases are already covered and the view across is not found through any exploration that involves things like wealth, riches, being in the know as far as who you know and so on.
The way to view this, is that you are talking to the owner of everything and every aspect of everything but at the same time, and there is no place else to go and from the point of view of prayer and relationship the Lord wants you to view things this way, that there Is no other recourse, no cry to the wilds, no other arbiter, and not to make the mistake that all the draping and window dressing of society are going to ever represent recourse.
To think you can give the Lord anything else other than praise and thanksgiving is going off course and missing your personal bridge and at the same time calling upon him as the recourse to all, the day of trouble mentioned in this psalm is representative of any moment time, form, or significance of trouble and for some every day could be a day of trouble.
While ultimately there is no other ownership out there, you can’t buy your way into the ownership either.
There is sense of status
At the same time however what ever the Lord might give you, doesn’t bring you to another bridge, or give you any slant towards an advantage going forward. They Lord may gift you many and varied gifts, but if you are coming back the route back is praise. This time, next time and all the time the bridge will be praise.
Then the question is what exactly is praise?
It would of course include specifically praising the Lord but it might also include song, being present and attentive to the Lord in the depths of meditation and an overall stance of turning to the Lord.
But the focus goes right to praise, you go right to the bridge and don’t look to traverse any other way, there is no need to be distracted by other considerations that you think matter, in terms of consulting with the Lord, as this psalm is saying these other things, are not even secondary, indeed that don’t even rate or consider as route.
The psalmist David would praise the Lord with the harp so praise can be a matter of song.
The walk of praise and crossing that bridge leads to and extends to relationship and this can include specifically asking as it says in verse.
You can always check and recheck using this psalm as a basis. If any form of trouble is arising, the route to go is to the Lord, keying across the bridge with praise and thanksgiving, and always keeping the view that the Lord is your recourse and never bending from that view.
The day of trouble indicates that you don’t have to always live in or really hide in the shadows; you can go out in the day, seek good things and live a bit. So this is invitational as well and there is no reason to sit still, the Lord will help you on the run and you can call upon and seek the Lord in the midst of activities and pursuits represented by being in the day, in the light and out of the shadows of darkness.
If indeed you choose go on and proceed with the day, there might be encounters with some difficulties, struggles, uncertainties, but the Lord will journey there with you as you praise and thank him and call upon him not only in the darkness of night, in the shadows of loss, but in the goodness of the day and light, where there is a lot of good, but some real risks, some real chances, some real trouble, for which the relationship of prayer and praise with the Lord is to be seen as the recourse as the bridge always there, always seen and always ready to be traveled across to the personal goodness of the Lord for you.
Verses 16 and 17 read as follows from the New
American Bible as follows:
14 Offer praise as your sacrifice to God;
Life Info Break - The Fountain of Youth
The spirit of youth is the thing most important to the young. And that spirit is simply a state of mind. As we age, we get used to routine. We lose interest in things that used to be exciting to us. But it doesn't have to be that way. We can all live again like we always dreamed. You know deep down you still have youth within you. You know you can once again be someone that turns head and has a renewed interest in life. Find that spark of youth again.

That praise is the bridge is doubly reinforced here in this psalm. Praise being closed akin to thanksgiving and it is with gratefullness that we find the Lord is coming down the bend to meet us directly, here and now and as we are..
If I am rich or not, the tendency is if I don’t have access to the material, the next thing to look at is being in the know, getting with the in crowd..
Even that is refuted here as a means of getting to the Lord. It doesn’t matter who you know, that isn’t going to get you the bridge to the Lord as you are invited whether anyone else joins you or not..
Verse 23 of this psalm says from the New American Version of the Bible:
23 Those who offer praise as a sacrifice honor me;
I will let him whose way is steadfast
look upon the salvation of God.”
The steadfastness mentioned here shows that the bridge of praise is a moment of the heart towards the Lord as an individual and while it incorporates actual verbalized prayer and thanksgiving the type of praise mentioned here is more than that and it is more of a whole person steadfast walk in prayer and communication with the Lord.
The Lord knows every bird, every person, every nook and cranny and recoiling into the idea that there is some know it all who can help is an idea that has use in part but that is not the bridge.
This psalm is sometimes used to bring in a little bit of prosperity preaching, that indeed the Lord has ownership of everything, all the cattle of the hill and maybe he will cast a favorable eye get you a nice piece of that big pie.
All that is just part of the bridge to be traversed however, it is indeed the Lord’s hill and everything is his, but praise goes past even that and goes all the way to the direct relationship.
While that can be possible, the point of view is more so that the approach to the Lord should be made with an understanding that his ownership is comprehensive and his knowing is comprehensive and that bases are already covered and the view across is not found through any exploration that involves things like wealth, riches, being in the know as far as who you know and so on as the offering of the brigde of praise is from the Lord’s perogatrive and given invitation that bypasses ownership of anything..
The way to view this, is that you are talking to the owner of everything and every aspect of everything but at the same time, and there is no place else to go and from the point of view of prayer and relationship the Lord wants you to view things this way, that there Is no other recourse, no cry to the wilds, no other arbiter, and not to make the mistake that all the draping and window dressing of society are going to ever represent recourse that can substitute for that direct bridge to the Lord that is crossed supernaturally in praise and has mysterious and unexpected elements as per Isaiah 64..

Finally, this psalm is prophetic to the New Testament where the whole theme is direct personal access to the Lord and the doing away with any sacrificial offerings.
People in there here and now might be a bit confused, feeling like they must get there house in order in some imagined way before they can meet with the Lord and cross this this bridge of praise. Unless I fill in with the whole pie chart of what is deemed successful, I may find myself feeling unworthy of dealing with the Lord directly right now.
It maybe was unexpected that the Lord would provide this bridge, this direct route, but it is the reality of the new convenant and the call is to be steadfast in the relationship first and foremost directly and as an individual person whose is steadfast in responding to the call and heed of the direct relationship.
Jonah was called back from the belly of the whaole and directly back to his job or task of warming the giant city.
the guidance of the Lord will tend to brining you back from your errant ways to this bridge which is representative of the direct route, a route that can be draped in mystery and the unexpected but it is important to see it as individual and the call as the true reality that isn’t fogged over by the distractions of partial truths that may tend to hide the reality of what the Lord is offering which is too meet you directly and all you have to do is meet him with some praise and thanksgiving for all of his direct provisions.
Finally there will be many provisions found on this meeting on the bridge and over the bridge as the provisions are the Lord’s to give and the first tier of provisions is found directly on this bridge and you don’t need an intermediary to the Lord’s astounding and wondrous provisions whether it be your own sacrifices, those of others, or anything else.
All that is required is to take the direct route of steadfastness of heart in crossing the bridge and meeting with the Lord heart to heart.

The Yeast of the Pharisees Spiritual Abuse By Pastors and Counselors
Author: Ryan Thomas Neace
Spiritual abuse occurs across denominations, in non-denominational churches, and across faithsChristianity, Judaism, Islam, et al. It usually has little to do with the theologies of major religious groups and more to do with the personality of individual leaders. Spiritual leaders with personality pathologyespecially narcissistic, antisocial, obsessive-compulsive, borderline, and histrionic traitsmay become spiritually abusive. Because of emotional, relational, and cognitive problems characterizing these personalities, the Bible, theology, and church relationships can be distorted by such leaders to the point of serious harm.
Christians believe that human beings have a spirit that connects us to God. As such, spiritual abuse consists of actions that distort or sever our relationship with God. Since identity derives from knowing who we are in relation to God, spiritual abuse harms self-concept and self-worth. Spiritual abuse also causes mental and emotional distress, and is therefore a form of mental/ emotional abuse. In extreme cases, it includes physical and sexual abuse justified by the abuser as Gods will through the twisting of scriptures.
Spiritual abuse has debilitating effects and is thus a legitimate focus in counseling or pastoral care. Depending on its manifestation, spiritual abuse may involve actionssuch as severe mental/ emotional abuse or physical/sexual abuse of childrenthat professionals are legally required to report to state child protection agencies. When perpetrators of spiritual abuse are licensed or certified counselors/pastors, ethics compel reporting the perpetrators behavior to licensing boards or church/denominational oversight authorities.
Spiritual abuse is usually more severe in church than in counseling settings. Pastors are often accorded great respect and authority in critical life domains marriage, sexuality, relationships, and finances. They lead communities that exert social pressures and offer belonging and fellowship. Abuse in these contexts affects most aspects of life.
Spiritual abuse occurs on a continuum. Some churches are virtually free of it; others are occasionally and mildly abusive; still others abuse frequently and with great intensity. Experiences of spiritual abuse are also unique to the individual. Somesuch as those inclined to perfectionism, obsessions, anxiety, or self-derisionare more likely to hear messages as inflexible rules or condemnations. Others in the same environment and exposed to the same messages might not experience trauma.
Spiritual abuse can arise in counseling offices, but is usually less severe than in churches, for several reasons. Counselors are rigorously trained to be person-centered, to listen, and to respect the beliefs and choices of their clients. Counselors are less commonly accorded the same authority as pastors, nor is counseling typically imbued with the authority of God. Counseling is temporary; counseling is commonly and easily terminated. But church membership can be seen as a lifetime commitment. Leaving counseling does not mean separation from family and friends, but leaving ones church may.
Scripture addresses spiritual abuse best through Christs scathing words to the Pharisees (Matthew 23), who are perfect examples of spiritual abuse. Spiritual abuse has 12 features.
Authoritarianism. Rather than modeling and teaching obedience to God, abusive leaders expect believers to obey them. Councils of elders, deacons, etc., are expected to rubber stamp leaders intentions rather than provide accountability.
Coercion. Rather than respecting freedom and conscience, as God does, and offering messages that persuade based on scriptural integrity and reason, abusive leaders use strong-arm tactics to coerce believers into overruling better judgment and following their demands.
Intimidation. Rather than building up the Body in the bonds of love, abusive leaders use threats of punishment, excommunication, and condemnation to force people into submission and continued church membership.
Terrorism. Rather than inviting people to follow Christ with the Gospel of love and forgiveness, abusive leaders intensify believers fear, shame, and false guilt, teaching that problems in believers lives are due to the believers personal sins.
Condemnation. Rather than refraining from judgment lest they be judged, an abusive leader liberally condemns those who leave his church, outsiders, and those whom he defines as sinners. The message is that believers will join the ranks of the condemned should they deviate from the leaders teachings or leave his church/denomination. Individual members become the scapegoat when something goes awry in the congregation.
Classism. Christ was no respecter of persons. Abusive leaders are preoccupied with power, promoting church hierarchy, referring to and treating people according to their titles and roles. Those lower on the hierarchy are taught that their needs dont matter.
Conformity. Abusive leaders have the greatest hold over inexperienced, naïve, and dependent individuals who are seeking a strong leader. These individuals suppress their objections to the leaders teachings for fear of being shamed or ostracized. Hence, abusive churches often appear unified, but beneath the surface there is discontent, anguish, whispers, rumors, secrets, and a desire among many to leave.
Manipulation. Rather than taking scripture in context, interpreting the Bible with the Bible and according to long-held Christian beliefs, abusive leaders twist scripture to convey their personal opinion rather than Gods intent.
Irrationality. Because scripture is manipulated, one interpretation may contradict another. Interpretations may contradict reason and obvious reality. This requires suspension of critical thinking. Some abusive leaders claim to receive direct messages from God about their church or individual members, but these messages typically deviate from Scripture and reality.
Legalism. Rather than treating others with love, grace, and forgiveness, as Christ commanded, abusive leaders offer little grace. They communicate instead that ones worth and the amount of love one deserves depend on performance and status in their church. Abusive leaders expect believers to make heroic financial, time, and emotional sacrifices for their church and its members.
Isolation. Rather than respecting family ties, community obligations, and friendships, abusive leaders are concerned that such influences will interfere with their control over believers, so they encourage isolation from family, friends, and the outside world, and wage war against the outside world as a sewer of sin devoid of anything redeeming.
Elitism. Rather than modeling and encouraging humility, abusive leaders beam with false pride and teach the same to believers. An attitude arises of, œWere it! Were special! Everyone else is condemned!, partially compensating for the shame and worthlessness that believers feel because of other experiences in the abusive church. The leader instills that believers must protect the churchs image at any cost.
Ensnarement. Rather than promoting maturity among believers, abusive leaders inevitably promote self-doubt, guilt, and identity confusion, since believers struggle with the contradiction between what their conscience and reason tell them and what they are being taught. This ambivalence, coupled with fear of condemnation and loss of direction and fellowship, make it difficult and painful for believers to leave abusive churches.
Think about a cult, for at its most severe, a spiritually abusive church is a cult. It has so diverged from solid Biblical teaching and grown so warped in the authoritarian rule of one man, that it has become a place of idolatry where God is no longer worshipped. œWho cut in on you and kept you from obeying the truth? That kind of persuasion does not come from the one who calls you. A little yeast works through the whole batch of dough¦ Be on your guard against the yeast of the Pharisees¦ (Galatians 5:7-10, Matthew 16:6).
Assessing Religious Abuse
Assessment is simpler when clients already define their religious experiences as abusive. When clients do not recognize their possibly abusive experiences, cautions apply:
_Respect adult clients religious choices._ Labeling religious experiences as abusive may interfere with religious autonomy. However, therapist authenticity, integrity, and responsibility require that possible religious abuse be addressed openly. It may be useful to assist clients in articulating the issues to arrive at their own conclusions about abuse. Remember, not everyone experiences the same events in the same manner; seemingly harsh religious experiences may not traumatize everyone.

_Regarding children, utilize an objective standard of abuse._ Most authorities agree that religious abuse has definitively occurred when the experience has led to serious and diagnosable behavioral, cognitive, emotional, or mental disorders. Short of this, it is inadvisable to use the word œabuse to describe religious experiences.
_A psychometrically valid and reliable questionnaire may be useful in this assessment_, such as the Remuda Spiritual Assessment Questionnaire (www.remudaranch. com), which contains a factor score measuring spiritual abuse. It is short, easy to use, with either paperand- pencil or computerized administration, and free of charge to healthcare professionals.
Treating Religious Abuse
It is not possible in this overview to detail treatment for spiritual abuse. Detailed treatment old_resources appear in the bibliography. However, there are some basics.
Common issues arising among clients in recovery from spiritual abuse include betrayal of trust, learning anew whom to trust, fallout with and forgiveness of God and family, grief over lost years, and understanding grace and Gods loving nature. Those who have experienced spiritual abuse often evidence the following additional difficulties:
Feelings of worthlessness as opposed to dignity and self-respect
Efforts at control as opposed to an ability to surrender trustingly to God
Shame vs. self-acceptance
Guilt about vs. recognition that past sins have been forgiven
Anxiety about performance and punishment vs. peace
Moral rigidity vs. grace and unconditional love
Isolation and secrecy vs. a sense of belonging and ability to be authentic with others
Addictions/compulsions vs. healthy boundaries and coping skills
Confusion vs. clear understanding of the Gospel and nature of God
Hopelessness vs. a sense of meaning, purpose, and direction
Regardless of spiritual abuse history, spiritual interventions are contraindicated when clients dont want them, are psychotic or delusional. If spiritual interventions are warranted, inform clients at treatment inception that you may use spiritual interventions and obtain informed consent. Spiritual interventions are most effective once trusting therapeutic relationships have developed. However, Christian counselors should express a commonly understood Gospel truth, including Christs atoning sacrifice, forgiveness rather than punishment, and Gods unconditional, unmerited grace and love rather than legalism, performance, or the need for perfection.
Primary spiritual interventions include: teaching spiritual concepts; bibliotherapy; prayer; spiritual imagery and meditation; forgiveness; counsel from pastors or spiritual directors; encouraging involvement in a healthy faith community; cognitive restructuring focusing on the nature of God; a mature understanding of suffering, self hatred and perfectionism as obstacles to receiving Gods love; and an application of clients values to their own lives to reduce cognitive dissonance. Self-help groups, such as Christian Recovery International, may be recommended. It may be necessary to guide clients toward finding a healthy faith community. The four Fs suggest that healthy faith communities offer:
Food: sound Biblical messages promoting personal growth and maturity
Fellowship: supportive relationships
Fit: commonality with other members
Fruit: service to community and one another
It is a sad commentary about the modern church that abusive Christian leaders are so pervasive that we must write articles like this and give them prominence in order to warn the faithful. Yet it is also true that perverted pastors, false prophets, and evil leaders have always existed in the history of Israel and the Church. And most importantly, if we cling to God and stay vigilant, He promises to make the way straight for us.Take help from telephone counseling.

The Benefits Of A Spiritual Awakening
Author: William Jordan
Spiritual Awareness
In my last Hub “Real Power for Broken Lives Awakening the Spirit” the writer began to touch on having a spiritual awakening in this hub we will answer four questions that seem relevant since the writer is a Christian we feel that the issues of spiritual awakening needs not have stigma attached too it. We find that many Christians find the term taboo we will attempt to explain why they shouldn’t. Second we will look at what is a spiritual awakening? Thrid we will look at why one might pursue a spiritual awakening? And last we will look at some of the benefits of a spiritual awakening?
“They that worship God must worship him in spirit and in truth.”
This is what the teacher had to say he also told his disciples he would send the Holy Spirit which would lead in guide them in all truth and provide comfort. Jesus spent a lot of time talking about the oneness of him and the father this oneness should and could be perceive as being spiritual since spiritually is all about connecting with God and your fellow man. Since Jesus did not shy away from spiritual things and suggested he would send a spirit of comfort we fill that it ok for Christians to pursue a spiritual connection with God we are not talking about the inner self or any new age teaching we are writing about connecting with God as he is describe in the word of God.
What is a spiritual awakening you will find many answer to this question?
“Spiritual Awakening and Enlightenment is the primary goal of almost all spiritual practices, traditions and religions and for any spiritual seeker. There are many names for this awakened state of Consciousness depending on what culture and tradition we belong to.
This page will be continuously updated with information and personal experiences about Spiritual Awakening and Enlightenment.”
This is one definition gathered thru research on a spiritual awakening but for the Christian or true believer this definition will and does not suffice because we are looking to connect with God’s spirit with hope that the connection will do at least two things draw us closer to God and find out his will for our lives. Bonding with God is the real objective of any spiritual development we might desire as our spirit awakens through fellowship with God thru prayer and meditation we began to see the need for God and the benefits of him being near to us allows us to desire his will for our lives the awakenings fits us to be of service to God and our fellow man.
While one might pursue a spiritual awakening this question can be answered differently by each person so we have choose some reason that relate to our pursuit of a spiritual awakening.
Lack of power to overcome vices that where destroying our very existence was one reason we cried out the pain associated with bondage to and outside force that was sucking all of the live out of our being and the emptiness it created was just one reason we cried out. Hopelessness is another reason one might seek a spiritual awakening lose hope is like spiritual caner it spreads throughout the spirit of the victim and paralyses the sufferer to the point that he says what’s the use there is no hope for me. Bitterness is another form of spiritual caner fueled by hate in lack of trust, we continue on destruction by telling ourselves I’ll show them the more we show them the sicker we become spiritually, and as the spiritual malady sets in we allow this cycle of bitterness to rule our life. These are just a few others are anger, guilt and shame these coupled with despair and the list could go on and on we hope you have an ideal of the spiritual malady. If you can relate too some of things we have discuss as the reason one might pursue a spiritual awakening then you are a candidate for a life changing experience that will rejuvenate your life.
What are the benefits of a spiritual awakening?
The benefits of a spiritual awakening are numerous and will probably differ for each person but there are some basic rewards that we all share such as hope, love, and understanding these coupled with love joy peace and forgiveness are at the core of every spiritual experience. Not to mention honesty, integrity, discipline and faith, along with brotherly love happiness and a sense of purpose. We find ourselves useful again and have a strong desire to help others and to be help it’s no longer us against the world. These are just a few of the rewards the main reward is the knowing of a rebirth we are reborn and we know it and we feel that others should know about our experience so they can join us on our spiritual journey.
In conclusion I hope something has been wrote that will give others that might find their selves and the grips of a spiritual malady a desire to seek a spiritual awakening which is basically a tool that teaches us to rely on God and the people he puts and our lives that offer us help because the can relate to the spiritual pain they see in us. Today we pray that God will make us useful and whole thru a spiritual encounter that will forever change our lives.

Accessing the Astral Plane
If I were creating my own ‘kick-ass’ astral travel package to the astral plane, I would combine binaural beats AND subliminal messages in the same recording. Unfortunately, I’m not aware of any combined and simultaneous system that I could point you to.
But let me skip back to the hypnotism method of evoking astral travel for a moment. To have the maximum effectiveness, the hypnotist has to strongly identify with both the subject and the astral plane. I only know of one practicing hypnotist who has actual experience on the astral plane: that is myself. (However, I haven’t done an exhaustive search for others). So perhaps the hypnotism method could work for an especially suggestive person, but I wouldn’t hold my breath on it doing the trick for most people. Yet I did suggest in the title of this article that technology was a ticket to the exquisite joy of astral traveling. So I’ll wrap this article up on a positive note.
For the best technological springboard to astral travel to the astral plain that is currently available, you should try both the subliminal MP3 route and the binaural music. Listen to the subliminal messages first. These will seek to counteract the blockage of doubt that is holding you back. After the subliminal recordings have inserted positive thoughts in your mind, then you use the binaural music to position you on the astral travel runway. Then you should be ready to board your astral plane and fly away to the amazing astral realms.
Damn! I really should produce an astral product that combines subliminal methods, binaural beat technology and supplement them with my uniquely qualified hypnosis talents. Wouldn’t that be a first-class seat to the astral plain on an astral plane for first-time astral travelers? If you think it’s a good idea, please boot me in the butt with a comment or two.

MRS 2000 Secrets: 4 Important Tips To Help You Improve Your Results
Author: Bryant meyers
The MRS 2000 from Mediconsult is the world leader in magnetic resonance therapy and has changed the lives of over 400,000 people worldwide.
The MRS 2000+ Designo is the only pulsed electromagnetic therapy (PEMF) device that uses the Schumann earth based frequencies, along with earth intensities, a circadian rhythm clock, a sawtooth signal on the MRS 2000 mat, and a square wave on the pillow pad and probe (NASA proved the square wave was the most effective for healing and regeneration).
Most everyone that uses the MRS2000 notices more vitality, deep sleep, a sharper mind, resistance to illness and even stress relief.
The MRS 2000 mat acts like a whole body battery charger, and it jump starts cellular metabolism which increases oxygen supply, improves circulation, increase alkalinity, and a lot more.
While the MRS 2000 comes with an excellent users manual, there are some golden tips that are left out which I will reveal here. Many people that use these secret tips will get even better results.
In this great article, I am going to reveal four secret strategies you can use to make your experience with the MRS 2000 a better one.
The Four Secret Strategies Unveiled:
Strategy 1: Hydrate Your Body Before and After. Water is the foundation of all your cells. Without proper amounts of water, the energy flow will be reduced and the MRS 2000+ will not work as well. I can personally attest to the importance of consuming a large glass of water before and after a session.
Strategy 2: Head in the Right Direction: Here is another important tip. Face your mat and head North to align yourself with the earth’s magnetic field. This may sound subtle, and you know what, it is; but I can personally attest to the improved results of incorporating this simple strategy.
Strategy 3: The MRS2000+ is the ONLY magnetic resonance stimulation device on the market with an integrated circadian rhythm clock so that you get the proper energy at the for the time of day. This clock is simple to use but there is a little secret to making it work better. The best time to use the morning setting is right at sunrise. And even more important, the best time for the evening session (for deep sleep) is close to bed such that you are fast asleep by 10 PM. The reason for this is HGH release. Research has proven that HGH (human growth hormone) peaks between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m. If you are having problems with your health, please be sure to use the MRS 2000 and then follow Ben Franklin’s advice, “Early to Bed, Early to Rise…”
Strategy 4: Putting Things in Proper order. This is simple yet very important. Make sure to always use the full body mat before using the applicator pillow pad and probe. The reason is that the full body mat will open up the circulation and allow the body to be more receptive to local application.
If you would like more information on magnetic resonance therapy and the mrs 2000, please visit our mrs 2000 designo site and request a free consultation.
